Students will learn traditional styles as well as the history of the flamenco. You will learn basic technique needed to dance, including posture, hand and arm movement, footwork, and dance styles. Technique is reinforced through exercises and choreographies. Students will also learn the compás, which is the rhythm that is followed in flamenco for all the different palos. Occasionally handouts will be giving out in class, pertaning to what was taught in class.

Virginia sponsored and hosted a Flamenco Dance Workshop with ANTONIO VARGAS. Workshop was accompanied by Flamenco Guitarist John Lawrence of New Orleans. Antonio taught an awesome Seguiriya.

September 17, 2005 -
Liberty Hill, TX. Virginia performed Flamenco at the MISS LIBERTY HILL PAGEANT as the featured guest entertainer. Virginia was also a judge for the pageant. This pageant had some of the most beautiful and talented young women of Texas.

August 18, 2005 -
Virginia performs at Austin's THIRD THURSDAY event, held every month on the campus
of the University of Texas. Virginia performed with Marquesa, one of Austin's up
coming and rising flamenco dancers.

August 15 - 19, 2005-
Virginia sponcers & host a flamenco dance workshop for beginners with TIMO LOZANO.

July 14, 2005-
Virginia taught a one day-all day workshop for Connally High School's Latin Dance
Troupe.

Virginia performed flamenco for a wedding recieption at the LUXOR hotel in Las
Vegas, Nevada.

Virginia performed at THE GREEN MUSE CAFE, for an In House Meeting for Austin City
Council Place 3 canidate, Jennifer Kim. She is now Austin's Place 3 City Council
Member.

Virginia sponcered and host a Flamenco Dance Workshop with LA TANIA. Students came
from as far away as Houston and San Antonio. This workshop was filled to capacity.
